Growing up in a village near Glasgow, Scotland, Owen filled his time drawing and painting. After discovering the fun of animation during high school, Owen re-located to Edinburgh to attend Edinburgh College of Art where he specialised in animation. In his summer holidays, Owen earned money selling acrylic paintings in art galleries and doing portrait commissions.
Outside work, Owen sings and plays guitar in a band, captains a five-a-side football team and enjoys cooking. He has a love of the Scottish landscape and a passion for Edinburgh where he is often drawing the scenery in his sketchbook. He is also an avid reader of Terry Pratchett and Bill Bryson.
